Our Story

A woman's hardest chapter should not determine how her story ends.

2nd Time Around Developmental Resources Inc. was built on the belief that every woman deserves the chance to start again — with support, with community, and with hope.

Our organization was created with a special understanding of women who have experienced incarceration, domestic violence, sexual assault, substance abuse, teen motherhood, and the barriers that often come with rebuilding after life-changing circumstances.

We recognize that starting over takes more than being handed a list of resources. It takes support, guidance, accountability, opportunity, advocacy, and people who are willing to walk beside you while you find your way forward.

As 2nd Time Around has grown, so has our understanding of how we can best serve women. We learned that making an impact does not mean we have to provide every service ourselves. It means knowing our role, building strong community partnerships, and making sure women are connected to the right resources at the right time.

Today, women entering 2nd Time Around begin with an assessment, receive an individualized plan, and may participate in HerJourney, receive resource navigation, community referrals, mentorship, advocacy, and continued follow-up as they work toward greater stability and independence.

We also believe change can begin before adulthood. Through HerWarriors, girls ages 11–17 receive mentorship, empowerment, positive guidance, and experiences designed to help them build strong foundations for their futures.

Our commitment extends beyond our programs. Through Serving Second Chances, we remain active in our community through monthly outreach and service.

A second chance isn't about erasing the past. It's about having the support and opportunity to write what comes next.
